Cub Scouts Beavers and Scouts all let go their energy in games, sports and in learning by doing. They find out about the world around them and its people and show their concern for others in fund raising for charities and helping people in need they are Exuberant. inquisitive and anxious to please. The Steady continuous growth of the Scout Movement and the waiting lists of young people who still today are eager to join the scouting movement still in the millennium when there are so many other outside influences which one would imagine would cause the very idea of Scouting to be boring when you put Scouting beside the Games Consoles and the Television and Sky with all its array of programs it just seems that Scouting has not and will never go out of fashion! The reason we believe this is a fact is largely due to the fact that the scouting movement adapts to change by planning to meet future needs of the children and young adults of today. The Scouting Movement open up the training programme to ensure that they satisfy as many interests as possible. Scouting holds its place in the millennium as one of the most progressive youth movements. This is largely due to the fact that the Scout Leaders who have usually progressed to a leader from being a cub scout or maybe even a beaver previously and have themselves seen the benefits belonging to the Scouting Movement hence they have afforded the new innovative ideas for today's generation ensuring a steady progression and line of new young members who wish to join the Scout Organisation.

For those who do their best as Members of the Pack or their troop and unit, Scouting can given them some of the best years of their lives. It offers companionship and lots of new interests the change to develop new amazing skills and oftentimes be able to try activities that would not be attainable if they were not members of the Scout Organisation.

As you see here in the image there is a youth learning to abseil at the end of this particular training this scout if they cover the course will get a badge to show he has achieved his goal. This can only give any youth a sense of pride learning the new skill and may even lend itself to the youth taking this particular outside sport further one day? And more importantly it gives a youth a sense of purpose and a way to say Goodbye to Boredom.

Looking to the future Scouting will continue to play a full and sometimes leading part in its own right and in conjunction with the Youth Service which is an integral part in helping young people with all abilities and disabilities cope with the technological and economic changes that will continue to take place and problems such as unemployment and the need for the readjustment that they create.

As a Scout or Cub Scout there are friends which you can make that turn into life time friends who are loyal and honest and trustworthy. Even the most shy of children regardless of any disability are able to join in and make new friends and help them become confident and feel a sense of pride about themselves and their Scout Group and the Scout Flag.

Equally there are awards and achievement badges to be given even as an adult which will give any adult a sense of achievement. Who Can Join

In Scouting there have never been colour cultural or religious barriers. The youngest training Section is the Cub Scouts and thereafter the Movement is open to all who support its aim and methods. Members of the Training Sections, Leaders and other adults who make the Scout Promise wear a uniform . Adult supporters may join as Associate Members but do not wear a uniform. The best way to find out about joining either as a member or as an associate member is to enquire through your local scout group or District. However please also feel free to fill in the form on this page and we will arrange a meeting with you at our Headquarters in Chester. As you will also see to the right leaders and associate members get the opportunity to try out new things regardless of your age remember if you feel reasonably fit ( and that decision is left up to you ) there is nothing to stop you also joining in with the Troop and trying a new challenge such as in this case abseiling
